Prepared Meals Market Growth Drivers
-
Increasing Demand for Convenience Foods Drives the Market Growth
The increasing speed of city life and the growth of two-income households are leading consumers to look for convenient, ready-to-eat food. Ready meals provide convenience and variety, with formats ranging from frozen to chilled to canned. These products are being embraced by consumers, particularly those who are of professional age or are students, as another of these readily available, nutritious convenience products. This tendency is even more marked in major cities with a high level of work-life balance challenges. The driver of product innovation and market adoption is, and will always remain, convenience.
For instance, in the United States, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada reports that the meals and soups market is worth USD 63.3 billion in 2023, with prepared meals accounting for USD 27.9 billion as demand for convenience remains strong.
Prepared Meals Market Restraints
-
Rising Concerns over Nutrition and Preservatives May Hamper the Market Growth
Convenience remains strong, but preservatives, sodium content, and processed ingredients are limiting factors. To many shoppers, packaged meals are seen as less healthy than fresh options. It can be a turn-off to health-conscious shoppers considering traditional frozen and canned entrees. This hurdle can only be overcome with corporate investment in reformulations and clear labelling. Increased knowledge of health risks associated with the diet means more inspection of ‘ready meals.
Prepared Meals Market Opportunities
-
Innovation in Plant-Based and Functional Meals Creates an Opportunity for the Market
The global trend for coordinated plant-based, vegan, and functional chilled prepared food to satisfy nutritional and ethical concerns. People are seeking out meals with high protein value, high fiber content, and immunomodulating properties. This development opens up an opportunity for further portfolio diversification and differentiation in taste and nutrition by the industry. Functional ready meals are a growing tool for convenience for older consumers who don’t want to compromise on health.
For Instance, in 2023, Daily Harvest deployed its unicorn-fueled war chest to launch plant-based functional meals for healthy-minded vegan and flexitarian consumers.

Step 3: Data Bank Validation
Once all the information is collected via primary and secondary sources, we run that information for data validation. At our intelligence centre our research heads track a lot of information related to the market which includes the quarterly reports, the daily stock prices, and other relevant information. Our data bank server gets updated every fortnight and that is how the information which we collected using our primary and secondary information is revalidated in real time.

Step 4: QA/QC Process
After all the data collection and validation our team does a final level of quality check and quality assurance to get rid of any unwanted or undesired mistakes. This might include but not limited to getting rid of the any typos, duplication of numbers or missing of any important information. The people involved in this process include technical content writers, research heads and graphics people. Once this process is completed the title gets uploader on our platform for our clients to read it.
Step 5: Final QC/QA Process:
This is the last process and comes when the client has ordered the study. In this process a final QA/QC is done before the study is emailed to the client. Since we believe in giving our clients a good experience of our research studies, therefore, to make sure that we do not lack at our end in any way humanly possible we do a final round of quality check and then dispatch the study to the client.
