The ultrasonic skincare devices market size was valued at USD 659.78 million in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 1406.55 million by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 9.94% over 2025-2032.
The global ultrasonic skincare devices market is projected to benefit from the preference for non-invasive skin treatment procedures, along with growing disposable incomes and a beauty-conscious population globally. Moreover, the need is also driven by increasing recognition of the benefits of ultrasonic technology for stimulating collagen, purifying pores, and helping skin better absorb products. An increasingly aging population and a growth in skin-related issues, to cater for hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkles, are also fueling the ultrasonic skincare devices market trends.
On the supply side, the global manufacturers are significantly spending on R&D to introduce portable, multi-utility, and AI-incorporated ultrasound equipment. For instance, brands such as FOREO, PMD Beauty, and Silk’n constantly introduce new products targeted at professional and at-home use.
In 2024, L’Oréal declared strategic investing in tech-driven skincare and partnerships with biotech companies to merge ultrasound with biosensors to produce customized skincare.
Regulatory clearances from bodies, such as the U.S. FDA, for ultrasonic aesthetic products are driving safe usage and facilitating product launches in line with favorable skincare guidelines in markets such as South Korea and Japan. Recent clinical reports have shown that over 70% of users experienced better skin texture after 4-6 weeks of ultrasonic skincare treatments. In addition, the increasing online retail penetration and influencer marketing are the major factors resulting in the global demand increase.
By early 2025, Shiseido had rolled out an AI-enabled ultrasonic facial device that utilizes artificial intelligence technology to analyze complexion in real-time and adjust treatment, indicating that the Ultrasonic Skincare Devices Market is becoming even more precise and personalized.
Market Dynamics:
Drivers:
Increasing Demand for Non-Invasive and Technology-Driven Skincare Solutions Propels Market Expansion
Rising adoption of technologically advanced, non-invasive solutions for skincare, high consumer awareness, and increasing interest in advanced dermatological care are some of the key factors driving the demand for ultrasonic skincare devices. With nearly 65% of skincare users globally favoring at-home devices over clinic visits (Allure Beauty Trends 2024) that consumers are demanding that companies evolve. High-tech innovations, such as ultrasonic waves and LED treatment, and microcurrents, are the norm in high-end products. Safety and effectiveness of these devices have been proven with regulatory clearances, such as CE (analyzed by TGA) in Europe, and clearance by agencies, such as the U.S. FDA, which facilitates further practice.
One such instance is NuFACE’s FDA-cleared ultrasonic line, which exploded with a 35% YoY lift in unit sales through 2024. Meanwhile, R&D investment in beauty tech is on the rise, with companies such as Procter & Gamble and LG Household & Health Care spending more than USD 200 million a year on skincare device innovation. This increase in R&D and regulatory clarity is allowing safer and more effective devices to permeate the global ultrasonic skincare devices market, thereby adding significantly to the ultrasonic skincare devices market share.
Restraints:
High Cost and Limited Awareness in Emerging Markets Hinder Growth
These are typically priced between USD 150 and USD 400 and are out of the reach of middle-income consumers, particularly in the Asia-Pacific and some countries in Latin America, where such advanced products are priced at a premium. As of 2024, ultrasonic skincare devices remained niche in urban India, with only 22% of urban Indian consumers being aware of their benefits. Moreover, there is no dermatological infrastructure or distribution channel running through Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities that could have facilitated its widespread acceptance.
Lack of standard global standards of device safety also makes regulatory approvals and logistics around importation case disassembled in many countries/taking time for the ultrasonic skincare devices market growth. Furthermore, fake or substandard substitutes are rampant on the internet, which has led to a decline in consumer credibility. These factors are still restricting the ultrasonic skincare devices market size and are also hindering the entry of new players who wish to gain ultrasonic skincare devices market share in untapped areas.
By Product
In 2024, the hand-held device was the leading product, with about 71.34% of the market share. Their convenience, accessibility, low cost, and simplicity of use have made them a popular choice for consumers looking to practice maximizing at-home skincare. Compact multi-functional devices designed for cleansing, firming, and serum application have become increasingly popular, largely in part to e-commerce and beauty retail. Additionally, the increasing consumer inclination toward self-administered treatment in the wake of COVID has given an impetus to this demand.
The tabletop ultrasonic devices product segment is poised to register the highest CAGR. Due to availability for professional use, these devices feature increased power output, dual-frequency output, and skin therapy programs focused on skin therapy for the most advanced use. Moreover, their growing popularity in medspas and dermatology offices is fueling expansion, as practitioners are looking for more sophisticated options to tailor their treatment.
By End-Use
Among end users, the homecare segment was the largest in 2024 in the global ultrasonic skincare devices market. Increasing customer attention toward personal grooming, convenience, and salon-grade technology available in a mini format, which can be carried anywhere, is spurring adoption. Both subscription-driven beauty tech models and influencer-led marketing have added to this growth in demand.
On the other hand, medspas are anticipated to witness the fastest growth throughout this period. Increased interest in customized and premium skincare services and higher preference for visiting aesthetic clinics for anti-aging and rejuvenation treatments are propelling the growth of the market. High-end ultrasonic equipment is being adopted by medspas to fulfill the customer demand, thus adding to the growth of medspas in the ultrasonic skincare devices market.
Based on geography, the ultrasonic skincare devices market is led by North America, as the region has strong purchasing power among consumers, the early integration of advanced skin care technology, and the presence of major market players are the factors that contribute to the region's lucrative marketplace.
The U.S. ultrasonic skincare devices market size was valued at USD 201.56 million in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 386.05 million by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 8.51% over 2025-2032. The U.S. held the largest market in the region, owing to overall higher skin health consciousness, rise in demand for non-invasive beauty treatments and increase in investment in beauty tech R&D. In 2024, over 62% of facial skincare devices sold in the U.S. were based on ultrasound, raising the question of what this highlights on at-home beauty would bring. Dermatological health solutions are gaining traction in Canada as well, with the increase in wellness tourism and spa culture.
Ultrasonic skincare devices are increasingly being used in Europe, where Germany is the top destination across the continent because of better healthcare facilities and high consumer preference for dermatological aesthetics. Safety and efficacy should also be taken into consideration by European consumers, and it is a CE-certified ultrasonic device. France and the U.K. are also leading contributors due to their luxurious skincare markets and prominent professional skincare sectors. The domination of the region is also underpinned by a rising number of aesthetic clinics and high intensity of R&D activities among European beauty tech companies. The U.K. ranked as the second fastest-growing country, with an increase in professional medspa chains and personalization within the skincare offering. The European alignment under MDR has established high-quality standards, which also promotes the ultrasonic skincare devices market growth and the ultrasonic skincare devices market analysis.
Asia Pacific is the fastest-growing region in the global ultrasonic skincare devices market due to the increasing disposable income, beauty consciousness, and booming skincare industry. China particularly leads the market due to popular products in urban areas, growing online retail channels, and an influx of younger consumers willing to purchase skincare technology. By 2024, more than 48% of premium skincare devices sold on Chinese e-commerce platforms were ultrasonic. South Korea, a trendsetter in beauty, is a primary driver of growth where many homegrown brands are specializing in small, multi-use devices for domestic and export markets. On the other hand, India is rapidly turning into a lucrative market with the growing number of dermatology clinic chains in metros and tier 1 cities and the rising awareness of wellness.
Leading ultrasonic skincare device companies in the market include Alma Lasers GmbH, Cynosure Inc., Solta Medical Inc., Cutera Inc., Syneron Medical Ltd., Canfield Scientific Inc., 3Gen, Aesthetic Group, Ambicare Health, Image Derm Inc., and Fotona, playing a significant role in driving innovation and market expansion.
In November 2024, several U.S. skincare brands introduced affordable microcurrent and ultrasonic gels, addressing the growing demand for accessible at-home facial treatments. This development supported the broader trend of DIY beauty and increased consumer adoption of home-use ultrasonic skincare devices.
In August 2024, L'Oréal partnered with Shinsegae Group in South Korea to expand its luxury beauty device portfolio. The collaboration aimed to integrate advanced ultrasonic skincare technology into premium retail channels, marking a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the Asian beauty tech market.
