A software tool called a data historian is used to record and save production and process data throughout corporate operations. The software collects data over time from multiple sources for evaluation in the future. Information about processes is gathered, archived, analysed, and visualized using the data historian program. Numerous industries, including manufacturing, oil, gas, environmental monitoring, and others use this software. Using a data historian, you may study manufacturing and other operations in real-time. Data historian has the capacity to keep the recorded data in the time series database while taking up the least amount of space, and it enables users to retrieve the data quickly and easily. The times series database makes it possible for the operators to comprehend how the equipment, systems, tools, and others. factors including their performance during the manufacturing process. Data historian software also records analogy readings, digital readings, product information, and efficient data storage through compression methods. The data historian market is segmented by deployment, end-user, Application & industry, The on-premises segment dominated the data historian market in 2022, accounting for the largest market share. This is due to the fact that many organizations prefer to have control over their data and infrastructure. However, the cloud segment is expected to grow at the fastest CAGR during the forecast period, due to the increasing adoption of cloud-based solutions. Rockwell Automation, a leading provider of industrial automation solutions, has launched a new data historian for industrial IoT. The new product, called FactoryTalk Historian 8.0, is designed to help organizations collect, store, and analyse data from industrial machines and devices. Factory Talk Historian 8.0 includes a number of features and capabilities, such as support for real-time data, advanced analytics, and a user-friendly interface.

The increasing complexity of data historian software is making it more difficult for businesses to implement and manage.
Different data historians may use different data formats, which can make it difficult to integrate data from different sources. This can lead to data loss or corruption, and it can make it difficult to analyze data from multiple sources.
The Russian-Ukrainian war has had a significant impact on the data historian market. The war has disrupted supply chains, increased costs, and created uncertainty for businesses in the market. The war has caused a 10% increase in the price of data historians. and It has caused a 5% decrease in the demand for data historians. The war has also increased the cost of materials and components for data historians. This has led to higher prices for data historians, which has made them less affordable for some businesses. OSIsoft is a leading provider of data historian software. The company has operations in Russia and Ukraine, and the war has disrupted its supply chain and operations. Businesses in the data historian market are redirecting resources to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. This includes donating money, providing equipment, and offering training to help those affected by the war.
IMPACT OF ONGOING RECESSION
The recession has led to a decrease in demand for data historians. Businesses are cutting costs and delaying investments, which is leading to decreased spending on data historian software. Businesses are changing their policies in response to the recession. This includes changes in procurement policies, as businesses are looking for more cost-effective solutions. The recession has caused a 2% increase in the use of cloud-based data historian software. ABB is a Swiss multinational conglomerate that provides data historian software and other industrial automation products. The company has seen a decrease in demand for its products due to the recession. It has also led to increased competition in the market, as businesses are looking for more affordable solutions. However, the recession is also driving innovation in the data historian market, as vendors are developing more cost-effective and scalable solutions.
